Letters from Theodore Roosevelt to Clark Howell, requesting that Howell's wife escort Mrs. Roosevelt around Atlanta during her visit, and possibly arrange a meeting between Mrs. Roosevelt and Joel Chandler Harris.
Mrs. Roosevelt will only be a couple of hours in Atlanta. She will arrive with me at eleven o'clock, and will be obliged to leave on the one o'clock train. I wonder if Mrs. Howell would care to come to the train and take her for a drive to see the interesting points in Atlanta, and if she could bring Joel Chandler Harris with her, or arrange in some way for Mrs. Roosevelt to meet him. As you know, our entire household is devoted to Joel Chandler Harris. Of course answer perfectly frankly if it will not be convenient for Mrs. Howell to do this.
